This painting is one of the 36 paintings of Sydney I plan to create. Since my arrival in Australia, I have been captivated by the natural and cultural beauty of this wonderful land. My work is a fusion of traditional Chinese painting and Western painting, highlighting the essence of traditional Chinese art’s capability to capture the Yi Jing (意境) of the subject we wish to paint. The painting is created using gouache and watercolours, and the original painting is not available for sale. However, I have prepared this fine art print for a limited edition of 100 copies, each signed in traditional Chinese calligraphy, and a seal is applied to the lower corner of the print. If you prefer the signature is not on the front, please leave a message, and a new print will be made for you. I will sign it on the back or issue a certificate of authenticity.

This vibrant gouache painting depicts a scene of the University of Sydney. The main building, with its Gothic Revival architecture, is rendered in fine detail, with its many windows and spires capturing the afternoon sun. In the foreground, the university is surrounded by lush gardens and flowering jacaranda trees in full bloom, painting the landscape with swathes of purple and green. The sky above transitions from warm hues of a sunset, fading from a soft pink to a gentle lavender, complementing the colours of the flora below. The overall effect is both tranquil and majestic, presenting the university as an oasis of learning and beauty.

The print is framed with a minimalist frame depicted in the picture, and an extra heavyweight mat board is placed between the front mount and the frame base for enhanced protection and to facilitate the easy removal of the artwork.
